Thomas was born and raised in Selma, Alabama, where he learned the value of growing up in a small town. He received a degree in Political Science from Auburn University in 2005 and graduated from Faulkner University's Jones School of Law in 2009.

Thomas began practicing law with the Baldwin County District Attorney's Office in May 2009 with a focus on personal crimes, prosecuting in hearings, bench trials, and felony jury trials. After a short period, he was promoted to the position of Baldwin County's Narcotics Prosecutor. As the Narcotics Prosecutor, he was directly involved in prosecuting all narcotics crimes, from the initial preliminary hearing stage to the jury trial. He was also tasked with handling civil forfeitures involving property confiscated in drug arrests. While he served as the Narcotics Prosecutor, Thomas handled hundreds of bench trials and hearings, as well as served as lead counsel on numerous felony jury trials.

In July of 2011, after nearly two years with the District Attorney's Office, Thomas resigned to start his own law firm with Liz Campbell. He elected to open the office the heart of Baldwin County - Robertsdale, Alabama. Since starting his own firm, he has handled a wide variety of cases from capital murder to real estate property line disputes. Thomas currently handles a range of cases, including criminal defense, DUI's, car accidents, Personal Injury, real estate, and probate law in Baldwin County and its municipalities, as well as surrounding counties.
