Steven D. Hazelwood
Steven was born and raised in Mobile, Alabama, the son of a paper mill worker and a registered nurse. Unlike a lot of lawyers in his field, Steven didn’t begin his career in law. Steven was a Boatswain in the United States Navy and crewed an AOE-4 of the Atlantic Fleet in the Mediterranean Sea. After receiving an honorable discharge, Steven went on to work in the title insurance industry while studying to graduate from Faulkner Community College with an Applied Science Degree in Computer Networking. Steven was employed as a Wide Area Network Consultant for businesses at AT&T Corp. (Fortune 500 company) where he received advanced training in business process and the use of technology to drive business. Steven later attended the University of South Alabama to receive a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science, Business, and Political Science while working as an Associate Real Estate Broker in South Alabama. Steven furthered his services by attending Faulkner University’s Jones School of Law in Montgomery, AL where he earned his Juris Doctorate.
Steven began a Real Estate career in 1995 and has primarily focused on commercial, residential real estate, business consulting and real estate development bringing a business consulting approach to service. After receiving a Juris Doctorate and admission to the Alabama Bar, Steven has expanded his professional services with the following Specialties: Civil Litigation, Real Estate Law, Contract Law, Secured Transactions, Complex Litigation, Personal Injury, Risk Assessment, Domestic Law, Business Consulting in Real Estate Acquisition, Commercial Leasing & Development.
The focus of Steven’s practice: Service, Integrity and Advocacy for his client’s personal and business needs.
Outside of the office:
Steven created the Eastern Shore Adult Soccer program in Fairhope in 2005 which has gone on to become Daphne’s Eastern Shore Co-Ed Soccer program. Steven continues to serve as the program administrator, a team manager and a player in the program.
Steven was a coach and the standing league vice president for the Fairhope Recreational Soccer League from 2003 to 2014. Steven was a co-founder of the Baldwin County Cup, a county wide recreational soccer tournament that had a floating field host to allow the communities of Baldwin County to collaborate for youth soccer.
While in law school, Steven volunteered with Alabama At-Risk Youth (Prevention Sub-committee). The Prevention Sub-Committee addressed concerns of children and adolescents who are at risk of entering the juvenile justice system.
